42. Dust Devil - a beautiful short film about art and our place in nature

I’ve just seen a beautiful and touching short movie by a brilliant film-maker: Poppy Walker.

It was released in 2019 and it’s called Dust Devil - and it’s won a lot of prizes. It concerns the dancer, Marta Becket, and her extraordinary efforts to restore and maintain a theatre on the edge of Death Valley.

It doesn’t have much to do with navigation, but I want to share it because it says something profound about a subject that matters a lot to me: the deep connections between people and the natural world, and how these find expression in works of art.

It only lasts 9 minutes - do watch it!
